COMPANY HISTORY >
JOHN TITMAN RACING SERVICE COMPANY HISTORY IN THE AUSTRALIAN AFTERMARKET INDUSTRY

John Titman Racing began back in 1982, when John himself a professional speedway rider living in Europe and Australia decided to open a Speedway parts / supply business. With racing commitments overseas back then John enlisted the help of a partner in the early days until John retired from racing in 1986 and began to run the business himself.

THE AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY LEGEND

John Titman himself was the first person to use any form of Talon, back in the late 1970's he was given a hub to use by good friend George Sartin (owner of Talon Engineering) and the rest is history so to speak. John Titman Racing to this day are the longest standing Talon distributor in the world.

Throughout the 1980's and most of the 1990's John concentrated on the Speedway market in Australia. In 1996 John's son Kevin joined the company and with Kevin they decided to change direction of the business slightly and began to focus more on importing the Talon range of motocross products. By late 2000 it became evident to John and Kevin the potential of the Talon products in the market place, a decision was made to take the business away from Speedway product supply and into the wholesale supply of general motorcycle parts and accessories. In 2001 JTR took over the distribution rights to DEP Pipes, Central Wheel Products, Radaelli and Morad rims and Venhill cables, products that are all still currently distributed by today.

In recent years JTR has also expanded it's product range substantially adding Universal Engineering, ASV Levers, Screwed Industries, SM Pro rims and IRIS chains to form an impressive line up of products in it's portfolio. In 2005 the RHK Performance brand was formed through JTR and today RHK has become a leading brand in the Australian motorcycle industry for performance parts and accessories, in 2008 JTR appointed 454 Unlimited in New Zealand their RHK distributor, in the first steps to RHK becoming a global entity.

2008 was a growth year for JTR, the new company headquarters were completed with the company moving to Capalaba from its original Thorneside base. The new factory some 1000 square metres of floor space was a welcome expansion for the company, severely outgrowing the old premises, which was retained as a bulk storage facility.

2009 and beyond JTR is set for further expansion, with Kevin Titman overseas each year looking for new brands and products to distribute and existing suppliers always releasing new products, JTR have a reputation in the Australian market for selling quality performance parts and accessories and being the "Kings of Bling"!
